HNTB Leaders Honored with National Ethel Birchland Lifetime Achievement Award and Leadership Impact Award

DETROIT, MI — HNTB’s Senior Vice President and Director of Infrastructure and Mobility Equity, Regine Beauboeuf, PE, and Michigan Office Leader and Senior Vice President, Eric Morris, PE, are recipients of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Foundation’s 2022 Ethel Birchland Lifetime Achievement Award and Leadership Impact Award, respectively. The awards ceremony took place at ARTBA’s National Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Ethel Birchland Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, long-term service in the industry’s public or private sector, and dedication to the advancement of innovation and women leaders.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been driven to help deliver infrastructure that builds stronger communities and be a mentor to others in the industry, especially my fellow women and minority colleagues,” Beauboeuf said. “I’m truly honored for this award and the recognition of the work I feel so passionate about.”

After 37 years in the transportation and infrastructure industry, including as a Supervising Engineer for the Michigan Department of Transportation, Beauboeuf brings experience to large, complex projects. She has managed some of HNTB’s key design-build projects and public-private-partnership ventures.

In her current role as Director of Infrastructure and Mobility Equity, she is charged with providing technical expertise and leadership on HNTB’s ongoing efforts advancing equity through the organization’s existing work, enhancing its Partners Program, increasing opportunities for historically underutilized businesses, and collaborating with industry associations. As Vice Chair of Michigan Women Forward, and through her affiliation with numerous social service organizations, Beauboeuf has worked to advance opportunities for women. She is also a board member of COMTO National and a member of Central Michigan University’s board of trustees.

The Leadership Impact Award recognizes outstanding leaders in transportation whose professional careers reflect strong and consistent contributions toward industry advocacy, driving impactful change, and mentorship.

“It is an honor to receive this award from ARTBA’s Industry Leader Development Program,” Morris said. “The knowledge and skills I gained in legislative advocacy and stakeholder engagement from the Industry Leader Development Program have been invaluable for my career growth and have empowered me to become a stronger grassroots advocate for transportation.”

Morris has been with HNTB for 20 years and leads a team of professionals in business administration, transportation design, operations, planning, construction oversight, and program controls in the company’s offices in Michigan. He manages the state Partners Program that helps small businesses better understand the firm’s expertise in sales, project delivery, and business operations.

Morris has been an advocate for the transportation and road building industry, especially at the state level. He was a board member of the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association and is currently a Director on ARTBA’s Planning & Design Division board. He also serves as Treasurer and Director on the American Council of Engineering Companies Michigan chapter.
